This rhododendron was in my neighbors yard and since purple is my favorite color, I was always thrilled when it was in bloom.  I took many pictures of the flower and felt this arrangement was well-balanced and that it would make a lovely painting.  I like to paint flowers that only bloom for a few weeks every year, and I try so hard to capture their beauty on canvas so that they can be enjoyed all year through!
